What We Teach:

-- The Bible is completely God's Word, with no errors, the only and final authority in spiritual matters.

--There is only one true God-- the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

--We emphasize the joy of God's forgiveness for our sins because of Jesus' death and resurrection-- forgiveness we receive as His gracious gift through faith in Him.

--The Holy Spirit creates faith in our hearts through the Word, teaches us, deepens our trust in God, and gives us the power to become more and more like Jesus in our love and concern for others as we continually grow in being His "disciples" (followers). We rejoice that He has a life-long purpose for our lives as those who are able to "pay it forward"-- blessing others as we have first been blessed!

--We take seriously the purpose for which Christ established local churches:  "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds... Let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the final day approaching (Hebrews 10:24 - 25)

Peace Lutheran began as a mission start back in 1967 in the Cherokee Village area.  As God blessed the growth of the church family, they moved to the present location in 1994.   From 1996 until 2013, the church opened and operated a Christian preschool and child care center.  In 2002 they began offering a contemporary worship service in addition to the traditional service.  In 2013 the church family began a "revitalization" project to focus our energy and efforts clearly on the mission of reaching out with God's Word and love to our rapidly changing society.  Christ continues to work in us and through us!

Who We Are:

Our name reflects our desire to be a people who receive, benefit from, and pass on the sense of peace and joy that only the Lord Jesus can give.  Jesus promises, "Peace I leave you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).  Peace Lutheran congregation was founded in 1970 in the Hardy area, and moved to its present location in 1994.

The Lutheran Christian faith identifies the third largest Christian denomination in the world.  It was the first of the "Protestant" Christians, originating in Germany in the 16th century; today Lutherans are found all over the world.  It was called "Lutheran" because it identified those who agreed with Martin Luther, who reformed the church with the simple 3-fold motto: "Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Bible Alone."

We are affiliated with the "Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod," a conservative branch of Lutheranism consisting of over 6000 congregations who work together, sharing a common faith, providing mission work, education, and service.

"CHURCH"...       "A gathering of people"...

--Who come from all different areas of the country, background, walks of life, ages, and interests.
--Who are all sinners, who have been forgiven and made God's peopleby His grace, for Christ's sake, through faith.  This makes us a family of believers, who care for each other and desire to keep "widening the circle" by welcoming others into the family!
--Who strive to be and remain a Christ - Centered, Bible - Based, Mission - Minded, Family - Friendly Christian Congregation!
